Following the recent May/June examination series, the British Council is organising a webinar for educators registering students for IGCSE English as a Second Language exams. This session will focus on key areas for improvement to ensure learners are fully prepared for the next session, specifically targeting the 0510 and 0511 syllabuses.

Key Points Include:

  • Identifying Common Errors: Highlighting frequent mistakes and strategies to avoid them.
  • Improvement Strategies: Offering techniques to enhance reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
  • Component-Specific Support: Providing tailored advice for each exam component.
  • Resource Utilisation: Recommending effective use of resources for student preparation.
  • Interactive Q&A: Addressing specific challenges and offering practical solutions.

By covering these aspects, the webinar aims to equip educators with the tools needed to enhance student performance and exam readiness.

Webinar Details:

  • Date: Wednesday, 2 October 2024
  • Time: 10:00 Cyprus Time
  • Platform: Microsoft Teams
  • Duration: 60 minutes for the presentation, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session
  • Recording: The session will be recorded and shared upon request for those unable to attend.
  • Cost: Free for partners registering their IGCSE English as a Second Language students through the British Council.
  • Certificate: A certificate of attendance will be provided.

Trainer: The webinar will be delivered by Jodi Rigas, who has over 30 years of teaching and training experience. Jodi has extensive experience with the Cambridge IGCSE, having served as a Team Leader for more than 15 years. She also holds the role of Cyprus Internal Principal Moderator for the British Council.
