The British Council in collaboration with Cambridge Assessment International Education and Paper Works Philippides are pleased to invite you to a seminar on the changes to the IGCSE English as a Second Language 2024 syllabus. This seminar is designed specifically for teachers of IGCSE English as a Second Language in Cyprus.

Dates and Locations:

The seminar will take place on Wednesday, May 17th in Limassol at Pefkos hotel and Thursday, May 18th in Nicosia at Semeli hotel. Both sessions will run from 9:00am to 12:30pm with a 30-minute break from 10:30am to 11:00am

Session 1 - Summary and explanation of the changes to IGCSE E2L syllabuses and rationale for the changes:

During this session, Kate Brown, from the Curriculum Development Division at Cambridge Assessment International Education, will provide a summary of the changes to the IGCSE English as a Second Language 2024 syllabus and the rationale behind them.

Session 2 - Putting the syllabus changes into practice:

In this session, Jodi Rigas, Principal at American Academy Limassol and British Council Oral Test Moderator, will provide a practical, classroom-activity oriented presentation to show how the syllabus changes can be addressed in the classroom.
