Description
This is a series of webinars on IGCSE English as a Second Language (ESL) - Listening and Speaking offered by the British Council in Cyprus for new teachers.
The Listening and Speaking webinars will focus on improving your teaching practice and approach, as well as provide tips to new teachers, so that you can give your learners the best possible preparation and help teachers understand the standard expected in order to prepare students effectively.
There are two options for each webinar to choose the best one depending on your availability. Each webinar will have a 45 minute presentation and then 15 minutes will be allowed for questions and discussion.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this Listening webinar participants will be able to:
- explain the format of the Listening Test to their students
- understand the different techniques and strategies needed for maximum results
- receive tips to enhance the performance of their students.
By the end of this Speaking webinar participants will be able to:
- explain the different parts of the oral exam to their students
- understand how a student is marked and why
- receive tips to enhance the performance of their students.

Presenter
The webinars will be delivered by Jodi Rigas. Jodi, has over 30 years of teaching and training experience, including extensive experience with the Cambridge IGCSE for over 15 years as a Team Leader and currently the Cyprus Internal Principal Moderator for the British Council.
