The British Council in Cyprus announces the first Teachers Conference to be held at the Hilton Cyprus Hotel, on 17 November within the framework of the British Council’s Study UK Exhibition 2017. The conference aims at equipping teachers with the appropriate tools to excel in their personal and professional development.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Mr. Michael Connolly, British Council Head of English for Education Systems in Europe. Michael has worked in a variety of teaching, teacher training and academic management roles in Spain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, the Palestinian Territories and in India. As Assistant Director English India, Michael managed a programme in which 940,000 English teachers in twelve Indian states were trained, working directly with over 10,000 Teacher Educators selected and trained by the British Council. In his latest role, based in the Czech Republic, Michael is responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and management of British Council teacher development projects across the EU.
The keynote speech will be followed by Ms. Glafki Kelly, CIE Cyprus Principal Internal Moderator who will highlight the latest changes of the CIE IGCSE English as a Second Language examinations.
